South LA uses photovoice to frame their community's story

The Community Coalition and Venice Arts worked together on a Photovoice project to document what young people see and experience in South Los Angeles. Danisha Young, an organizer with Community Coalition who grew up in the neighborhood, narrates a video presentation of the young people's photographs. She reminds us that like many communities, South LA has assets its residents value more than mainstream media reports of violence: "It depends on how the story is framed."
