Water, air and earth through the eyes of teens in Arvin

Children of families who work the Central Valley's farmlands, who are concerned about air pollution, crop dusting, access to clean water, and high rates of asthma, took photographs of their community in Arvin, CA. See more.This is one segment of a photo documentary project by ten teens from the Greenfield neighborhood of Bakersfield, Arvin, and Lamont (in Kern County) featuring the top health-related stories that they wanted to develop: teen pregnancy; air quality & related health issues, such as asthma; and unsafe parks. Partners were The Dolores Huerta FoundationThe Central California Obesity Prevention Program and Venice Arts, an arts organization which coordinates an 8-community participant-documentary project, Picturing Health, covering diverse areas of Southern and Central California.
