Richmond Pulse reporter Karina Guadalupe writes about efforts to transform Elm Playlot, a park in Richmond's Iron Triangle neighborhood, known more for violence and poverty than safes place for kids to play. She went with Toody Maher, founder of the nonprofit Pogo Park, on tours of four parks in San Francisco: Draves Park, York Street Mini Park, Golden Gate Park, and Tule Elk Park."Having an opportunity to watch children being active in the parks, and seeing everything they are capable of doing, given the right environment, was remarkable.
