The Mr. Success program: 'How to make it in life as a black male'
Students at Sam Brannan Middle School made this video about "Mr. Success," a mentoring program for African American young men who, in the words of participants, are otherwise expected to fail. They learn black history, set goals, practice handshakes and even talk about how to approach women. Mr. Success doesn't end there; it starts a cycle of mentoring: "When you've made it, you can bring someone else to your level."This video was featured at the second annual Youth Media Forum for Social Change at the Sacramento Bee on May 7, 2011.[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etc_rYBciHQ&w=320&h=240]
