Jose Eduardo Chavez was born to a single mother and had a rocky childhood in different parts of Mexico before coming to California in 2004. After working picking grapes, Jose graduated middle school and joined the 'Reform Immigration for America campaign.'  In a 4-part series about youth in the Dream Act age, he tells South Kern Sol about his perseverance despite the odds.
