Richmond’s Latina center supports a growing community

The Latina Center offers support groups, domestic violence workshops, and leadership programs to the growing community of Spanish speaking women in Richmond.  The center's founder Miriam Wong had a mission is to bring women up to their full potential, not only as mothers and wives but as  community members. "[U]pon arriving in this country, they feel anxiety over how to survive in a society completely foreign to them, and (anxiety over) how to contribute and be significant,” says the center's program director.  Read about the programs on Richmond Pulse.
