American youth are far too familiar with gun violence
For some urban teens, sadness, but not shock, follows they hear about the elementary school shootings. Where they are from, shootings happen every day. Having lost friends and family to gun violence on the streets of Oakland, it's hard for some youth to reconcile that with the fact that people they know are also part of the problem, simply because they own guns.
