Effort to legalize street food vending in L.A.

Street vendors sell everything from fruta to chicharrones in Boyle Heights—with or without proper city permits.  But vending without a permit can cost them -- they run the risk of being fined, having their equipment and goods confiscated, or even jail time.   The East Los Angeles Community Corporation has been working to develop a permit system that will help street vendors sell their goods legally.  The full story is on Boyle Heights Beat.jonathan-olivares-street-vendors-2-300x201
