The high price of work: teens pitch in to boost family in hard times
The U.S. unemployment rate for 16-to-19-year-olds is nearly twice as high as it was in 2000. This labor market has forced teens from lower income families to work in low-skill areas where experience isn't prized as much as a willingness to work hard for low wages. High school student Guadalupe Castro has worked since he was ten years old, helping his family cleaning floors in the evenings after school.
