USC college program comes to Ramona Gardens

A community program meant to ready area kids for college will begin this year at Murchinson Elementary School in the Ramona Gardens neighborhood of Boyle Heights.  Students begin after-school tutoring and weekend classes in elementary school continue through middle and high school.  Students in good standing upon their high school graduation get a full-scholarship to the University of Southern California.  Read about the Neighborhood Academic Initiative, on Boyle Heights Beat.usc
