Keeping friends while changing eating habits

The food we eat is such a basic component of our social lives that we don't notice how integral it is until we try to change what we eat.  When McDonald's is a ritual amongst your friends, it's a real challenge to forgo fries for a salad at home.  "I’m worried if I change my habits, things will become awkward, socially.
