Where is El Nido?

El Nido, a farming town 11 miles south of Merced, is 3.3 square miles with a population of 625. The few who call El Nido home find that others in the region are often unaware of the town's existence.  Lisbeth Vazquez writes about El Nido, her hometown, as a community that values its peaceful character while feeling frustrated by practical aspects of being so removed from the larger society.  The story was published in We’Ced Youth Magazine Issue #3, and it's online at We'Ced.nido
