The ACA and the undocumented

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act offers subsidies for some individuals to purchase health care they otherwise couldn't afford. But undocumented residents -- most of them part of working families -- won't have the opportunity to buy insurance through the exchange.  The emergency room will still be their main path to health care, and the divisive politics around "Obamacare" is not helping the situation.  "The only reason [undocumented immigrants] choose to come here is to give their children a better life, not to 'mess up' the country as many would say. It is time to adapt to the changes and give everyone an equal opportunity of benefits."  The story appears in the most recent issue of We'Ced Youth Magazine, and online at WeCed.aca
