Oakland rejects youth curfew

Community members roundly rejected a city council proposal to enact a school day youth curfew as an anti-crime strategy.  The curfew would have outlawed kids being in public or in business from the hours of 10pm-6am and 8:30am-1:30pm on school days.  While some residents supported the curfew, students and youth advocates spoke up emphatically at the public meeting.  The story was reported by Youth Radio.night
