Boyle Heights market gets a healthy makeover

Saturday marked the reopening and makeover of Euclid Market in Boyle Heights. The market was transformed from a traditional corner market that sold chips, sodas and candy, to one highlighting fruits, vegetables, and other healthy snacks.  The conversion was initiated by UCLA public health groups as part of a strategy to change eating habits and reduce obesity and heart disease among the area’s Latino communities.  More of this story is on Boyle Heights Beat.market-1-300x225
