Local control funding: How it works and how to get involved
Long Beach community members are hopeful that the Local Control Funding Formula will change the way their school district makes budget decisions. The law brings stakeholder committees into budget decisions and requires that community views on how local school money gets spent are taken into account. Students and parents can get involved, but they have to take initiative. "[P]arent involvement is a must.
