My black experience: walking on eggshells to walk a straight line

Darelle Brown feels himself smiling more when talking to white upper-class people, and hesitating to talk in class, for fear of being negatively assessed by strangers and labeled as a "thug."  But in a new class specifically for minority males, he gets a chance to analyze negative black stereotypes and how they affect his behavior and self-worth.  "Sometimes it feels like I’m walking on eggshells just to walk a straight line for someone.
