Del Norte's desert

Rainy Del Norte County isn't usually described as a desert, but residents are saying that finding affordable groceries can be a challenge.  Basic food access is a real issue for those who live outside the city, especially since a local mainstay food outlet closed.  Community groups are working on programs to give low-income residents easier access to fresh produce.  "Now a seventy year old man has to drive to Brookings just to get a loaf of bread."  The detailed story is on Redwood Voice.
