African American women's health legacy

The African American Women’s Health Legacy was founded by three women working to improve health and create a network of women of color within the Sacramento area. By educating women and their children about the importance of physical fitness and healthy eating habits, they hope to lower the high rate of diabetes among their peers. They also arrange gatherings around art to foster meaningful relations. “I see where we can create community, and this is really an opportunity for us create a 'well' experience.” Read more on Access Sacramento.art
