Foster care from a youth's perspective

Julia Gayfield is a former foster youth living in Richmond. Removed from her parents' care twice and placed into the foster system, Gayfield's experience differs from many of the stories we hear about foster care. "It was better than being with my parents. In the foster care system I got help with a lot of stuff like school and housing placement.
