Drought brings call for water conservation

The whole state of California is in a severe water crisis - the first in 15 years - prompting Governor Jerry Brown to ask residents to change the way they use water. Some measures are in the works to promote conservation, like imposing fines for non-adherence to designated watering times and educating the public about how to save water in their homes. Still, many L.A. residents aren’t aware of the severity of the situation or what they can do to conserve. “We live in a desert, and people will only realize it when the pipes run dry.”  The full story is on Boyle Heights Beat.
