Councilman makes promise on mural restoration
When City Councilman José Huízar visited the Ramona Gardens Senior Citizens Club, the women pointed to two issues they thought he could help them with: getting a supermarket in their neighborhood, and restoring a decades-old mural of the Virgin of Guadalupe painted on a nearby apartment building. The councilman, who makes weekly visits, was amenable to both changes, and was confident that he could see the restoration through. “The market is a long-term [enterprise], but the mural restoration is very doable.
