From ignorance to involvement
The 2010 Census Survey reported that 13.5 percent of Merced County’s youth are neither working nor in school, the highest percentage in the state. Increased civic engagement from youth could do something to combat this problem, because it makes young people stand out in a positive way - as visible and involved. “They have to realize that they spend money in the community, they live in the community and they work in the community.
