Water stations filling a need in Eastern Coachella Valley

Farmworker families living in the rural Eastern Coachella Valley know not to drink water straight from the faucet.  High levels of arsenic found in the groundwater here have forced residents to buy bottled water for drinking and cooking, an expensive and inconvenient necessity. But installations of clean water dispensing stations have started appearing at strategic locations throughout the Valley, offering families here something that people living elsewhere in the country see as a service to which they are entitled: free, clean water.
