Residents explore alternatives in intervention

Is it possible to confront neighborhood violence by organizing as citizens, without police or government? Hundreds of Long Beach residents gathered recently to explore this question, and an alternative approach known as transformative justice. "We need to move beyond thinking of certain people that are experts and move towards thinking of all of us as being people that have expertise on what we need in our lives." The story appeared on Voicewaves.
