Teen girls flip the script on social media

We hear a lot about bullying, shaming, and the destructive power of online social life. But according to some Bay Area teens, there's a trend of shunning those toxic digital dynamics in favor of positive, self-esteem promoting threads. Some even see it as a tool for young women to change sexist policies. "As a teen girl, there are all sorts of situations we can’t control— like a mean comment on Instagram, or the embarrassing experience of getting sent home for wearing the wrong outfit.
