Writing off the 'bad kids'

Victor Seguin, a student at Yosemite Continuation High School in Merced, argues that continuation school students are not given the same opportunities and resources as their counterparts in traditional high schools. He says students at continuation schools — most of whom have had trouble with schoolwork, excessive absences or other challenges — are written off as "bad kids." "It is hard for me to understand why students at continuation schools are treated differently than those who attend traditional high schools.
