At a recent West Contra Costa School Board Meeting, parents showed up in record numbers to voice concern about a rushed timeline and lack of community engagement over the appointment of a new superintendent. They also expressed doubts about the equitable use of bond funds at schools in different cities, and disciplinary policies in some schools. "Public commenters also said the Board has focused on top performing schools that are in more affluent areas of the school district, like El Cerrito, Pinole, and Hercules.
