It’s about time farmworkers get overtime pay

Growing up in Eastern Coachella Valley, Leydy Rangel saw her parents working long, backbreaking hours in the fields. Like many teenagers, she too spent her summer breaks taking agriculture jobs. Rangel reflects on legislation signed into law this month giving farmworkers the same rights to overtime pay as other workers in California. "Often times I would work up to 11 hours a day."
