“I basically had to rely on the internet to learn about my identity. If we can get a more inclusive curriculum in schools, LGBTQ+ students will be able to see themselves positively reflected and have that be so influential,” said 15-year-old Chiqui Diaz. That’s part of the reason she got involved with The Spahr Center to help bring LGBTQ+ issues to school curriculums. She recently won an award celebrating California youth leaders.
