Richmond Pulse: Why did you want to write a book for kids about gun violence?

Parris McChristian: I wrote the book because my son’s father was killed in 2019 due to gun violence. My mother was also killed when I was 3 years old due to gun violence. It didn’t dawn on me until my son’s father was killed that I should write a book. Read more at Richmond Pulse.
