Snapshots of building a healthy community

Participants in April's central California youth leadership convening for the Building Healthy Communities initiative took cameras into the streets of Fresno to explore what makes a community health or unhealthy. View their photos and comments on Flikr.While many photographed graffiti and abandoned homes, some young people saw positive signs:Lindsey, 17, on street repair: "I chose to take a picture of a street being fixed because you get a sense that the city still cares for this community and that they (the city) wants to take care of the people's safety."William, 17, on the economy: "Small businesses are still standing in hard economic times."
