Long Beach teens ask for wellness centers in schools

School absences due to sickness can accumulate to the point where a student simply cannot ever catch up with her classes. Roughly a third of Long Beach's high school students are uninsured, and often go without basic medical treatment.  One student shared her experience at a student health and wellness forum hosted by Khmer Girls in Action (KGA), a grassgroots group advocating the initiation of 'Health and Wellness Centers' in a slew of local high schools. The detailed story on old problems and new health initiatives is on Voicewaves. [youtube=http://youtu.be/akHzYsd2zBc]
