The complications of clearing a juvenile record

Though some states automatically seal juvenile records when the offender turns 18, California requires that young adults apply to have their records sealed.  The applications are burdensome, include high fees, and sometimes require that young people show documentation evidencing efforts to change their behavior and lifestyle -- such as proof of employment or a high school degree.  The full story was featured on KALW and Youth Radio.criminal-history
