Top toxins in Long Beach (and how they may be affecting you)
Long Beach has one of the busiest ports in the nation and the L.A. metropolitan region has had the nation's worst ozone pollution since 2000. The group East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice held seminars teaching about air pollution and its health effects, focusing on the top toxins in Long Beach. As a community living amidst textile factories and truck-filled freeways, West Long Beach residents are exposed to significant amounts of diesel, benzene, lead, and other toxins common in urban environments. Adalhi Montes attended the seminars and wants to report what she learned to the community, on Voicewaves.[youtube=http://youtu.be/yM4kg-BLdQQ]
