Undocuqueer find community in 'talking circles'

Gatherings called “talking circles” have sprung up over the past year in Long Beach, California, providing a private support network those who identify as both queer and undocumented, or “undocuqueer.”  The undocuqueer live at the intersection of two communities that do not always accept one another -- immigrant communities often accept the presence of undocumented people while rejecting gays.  This group forms a basis for friendships and community.  “For me [the talking circles are] very important, because even in my own story as an undocumented queer person, there’s so much I never shared."  Read the story on Voicewaves.[youtube=http://youtu.be/dbOhRjnoBvE]
