Community college students reach to get classes needed to graduate on time

Students in Long Beach have been having a hard time getting the classes they need to graduate, pushing the two-year process into a three-year process, four-year, or even a six-year ordeal.  City colleges are among those that suffer the most from state funding cuts, resorting to cutting classes and challenging students to get into the classes they need to obtain their degrees.  Professors agree that budget constraints hamper essential educational progress. “The day that I tell the waitlist students that they have no chance to be in my class is really the worst day of the semester for me.  I see all these students who want to learn and need this class get turned away.”  The full story with video interviews is on Voicewaves.
