Fresno officer building bridges to city's youth

A native of Fresno, Officer Mike Martin describes his job as the Youth Liaison Officer for the Fresno Police Department as a "go between" for law enforcement and youth. Martin spoke about how he got into law enforcement, building trust with the community, and the nationwide protests against police violence. "I definitely think officers are aware of the tensions within the community, which is the whole reason my position exists – to build bridges especially with youth … [many of whom] feel unfairly targeted or disrespected on the streets." His interview is on The Know.youth ball
