An anthology of school discrimination stories 'speaks for justice'

Boyle Heights high school students became published authors with their first-person accounts of discrimination in school. In the writings, they explore the roots of prejudice within the history of segregated schools. "I entered the class and the teacher asked me, 'Where are you from? What language do you speak at home?'... I told her I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California... I had been put in an ESL class, which was for English learners who didn’t really know how to speak the language, when I spoke it fluently."
